How to slide into "Fortnite" Chapter 3 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC

Fortnite Chapter 3 is one of the biggest updates to this popular online shooter in a while. In addition to introducing fresh islands, Spider-Man theme content and an improved storage system, it also adds slideshow movement.

Using this new method of traversing, you can glide over obstacles and enemy fire, just like in Apex Legends. While doing this, you can also perform certain operations, such as shooting or reloading.

In short, the slides provide you with a good alternative method of avoiding damage (rather than bunny jumping around), and can be used well with close-range weapons like shotguns.

However, the new initiative does have some limitations. First of all, you cannot heal or drink shield potions while performing this operation, because these operations require you to remain still while consuming the corresponding items. Speaking of which, you can’t perform a slideshow from a resting position, and you need to build enough momentum to make it work.

Although there may be a text prompt in the first game of Fortnite Chapter 3 stating that you can swipe now, there is no clear tutorial. With this in mind, this guide will explain in detail how to move on each platform.

To swipe in Fortnite Chapter 3, you need to start a run and then press the crouch button.

If you did not deliberately remap this command in the options menu (in this case, you should remember to change it to which button), then this is the default button for each platform.

For some older (classic) configurations, the button may also be L1 on PlayStation, L on Nintendo Switch, or LB on Xbox.

If you want to interrupt the animation (because you accidentally pressed a button or need to change the strategy quickly), you can cancel the slideshow at any time in Fortnite Chapter 3.

To do this, just press the crouch button again and your character will immediately stand up.

Fortnite Chapter 3 has a lot of new content and may be a little overwhelming at first. To learn more about the basics, please continue to read the newsweek report. We have prepared a guide on what crowns mean and how to obtain them.
